Two Surgeries
I had two surgeries this week, one was routine and simple and one was anything but. One was planned for awhile, one was an emergency. One was removing a tiny irritating organ, one was removing a large pervasive tumor. One has left me weak and in pain and one has left me strangely peaceful and alive. There are many surgeries in life; the spiritual ones are the ones that are the most important, the most dangerous, the most tiring and bear the most fruit, yet often we concentrate and pray for the simple physical ones and allow the spiritual ones to slide. We don't go for the diagnosis, we don't put in the prayer requests, we don't put in the time, and as a result we don't get to experience the freedom and peace that could be ours. I think that's sad.

I am happy that you faced down your fears for both of these surgeries, and that you have come through both with flying colours. I hope that the hardest one, the spiritual one, will be an inspiration for others.
Again you amaze me with your courage in facing your fears.
